ROAD BAN ANNOUNCEMENT
Effective 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010, All Oiled Roads in the M.D. of Provost #52 are banned to 75% of legal weight.
Although Gravel Roads are not banned, they are subject to the M.D. of Provost Haul Road Policy.

Charitable Donation Policy
At its regular meeting of February 25th, 2010, the Council of the MD of Provost No. 52 ratified a new policy governing the way in which third party funding requests of a nature not related to the ordinary business of the MD are dealt with. In brief, this policy sets aside $40,000 in each fiscal year, for which eligible parties or organizations may apply, and establishes criteria by which said applications will be evaluated and a timeframe for the rewarding of allocations.

Job Opportunities
The M.D. of Provost No. 52 is currently seeking seasonal equipment operators and laborers for the 2010 season. These positions will be based out of but not limited to the M.D. shops located in Hughenden and/or Provost. For more details go here.
Road Program
Council has ratified an aggressive program of addressing infrastructure issues within the MD of Provost, to commence in the spring of 2010. The primary thrust of this initiative will be a focus on the rehabilitation and rejuvenation of existing gravel road surfaces to a high standard, for the purpose of increasing public safety, facilitating commuter and industrial traffic, and increasing the overall connectivity of the MD's road network. Planned projects are illustrated here.
Additional work, while subject to future Council ratification, is planned for 2011 and 2012. Proposed out-year projects may be found here.

Effective Tuesday, August 4th, 2009, Alberta Permit Pro will no longer be providing any Safety Codes services within the MD of Provost No. 52. All future Safety Codes inspections and permit issuance in the MD will be carried out by Superior Safety Codes, including completion of all outstanding applications formerly submitted to Alberta Permit Pro.
From this time forward, applications will be taken directly by the agency and not at the MD office as was formerly the case. The agency's Red Deer Office may be reached at 1-888-358-5545, or the agency's website at www.superiorsafetycodes.com may be referenced for more information.
If you have a building, gas, electrical or plumbing permit that remains outstanding and have any questions or concerns, please contact the MD Administration Office.
